PlayStation 5 Soon To Be Released – Five Times More Powerful AMD Chipset

The PlayStation 4 was released exactly two years ago, but even if it’s still wanted by millions of console gamers who didn’t get to buy it yet, it seems that Sony is working on a new device, which might be released before the end of this decade. Usually, every new generation of console lasts from five to seven years and it sits on the shelves another three to five years, but if we believe the rumors, the PlayStation 5 will replace its predecessor sooner than expected.
Not only Sony has plans to bring a new console, because according to rumors, Microsoft is also preparing another Xbox model by the end of this decade. Now that the market is adopting 4K video and virtual reality, it’s obvious that these technologies will reach more and more houses in the near future. No matter if we’re talking about mobile devices, TVs, smart glasses or consoles.
The last category has two big rivals, Sony and Microsoft, and these companies are interested in using AMD chipsets which will handle 4K and VR gaming without any problems. The PS4 came with a custom AMD APU which was built using the x86 Jaguar microarchitecture, and this allows the gamers to play games that have been released for the previous PS3 console.
This means that Sony will stick to AMD’s hardware and will equip its PS5 with the next generation processor which will be five times faster and will support 4K graphics and virtual reality. These technologies will be implemented worldwide by 2020, in all departments, making our lives easier.
Currently, you can buy the PS4 with 500GB of storage and Star Wars Battlefront Bundle – Jet Black included at a price of $350, but the console comes also with other games and its price differs. The device is powered by a semi-custom 8-core AMD x86-64 Jaguar 1.6 GHz processor integrated into APU and has a secondary low power processor used for background tasks. It supports 8GB GDDR5 (unified) and 256 MB DDR3 RAM (for background tasks), while the internal memory is available in variants of 500GB and 1TB. The connectivity options include 802.11 b/g/n Wireless, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 3.0 and Ethernet 10/100/1000.
