Flyp to Beat WhatsApp With Free International Voice Calls

Flyp is an app that is planning on following WhatsApp’s footsteps, only its main focus is to roll out free voice calls. Back in spring, the company headquartered in Boston revealed their app alongside a bunch of phones lines that can be set-up on mobile devices. The first line is cost free while the second only implies costs of $2.99 per month.
Flyp has rolled out a brand new service that permits users to initiate calls&texts free of charge. This will happen between US and 15 European countries. The UE countries included: United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, as well as USA. Canada will also be part of the list starting with the 21st of November and by the end of 2015, the company wishes to include Middle East and Eastern Europe countries to the list.
This means that all Flyp communications will be converted into local calls and they will appear as local phone numbers. The best part about this service is that it suffices if just one user has Flyp app the call will be free.
The phone app and the phone experience hasn’t changed in 20 years,” Flyp CEO Peter Rinfret says. “We’re really about changing this entire experience and going down this whole disruption line,” he concluded.
The Flyp CEO also believes that this new method will offer users a very affordable but at the same time top-notch quality calls for UE countries. Initiating calls for other countries will not be the same process as for the US one. The ones who wish to call a friend from another country has to get a line, available for 90 days (free and expandable if needed). Calling users within the US territory on the first line will be free of charge, according to CEO Peter Rinfret.
